Overview

Eric Wright Building Consultancy acted as lead consultant, contract administrators and project managers for the scheme, from inception to completion.

This scheme, delivered on time and to budget within an operating health over an 11 week programme and was completed in September 2022 with minimal snags.

Eric Wright Building Consultancy (EWBC) began work on this project in 2020 and managed the project to completion, within the set budget and timeframes. This was a direct award through the LIFT Co framework partnership. The project involved the internal alteration and refurbishment to existing ground floor minor ops and changing areas.

EWBC lead the stakeholder engagement from inception to completion, working closely with our client Combined Health Partnerships (CHP).

Initial designs options were reviewed a preferred option identified. This was than developed into a detail design, in conjunction with the service providers.

The scheme involved complex stakeholder engagement through LIFT Co, CHP, CCG and local service units.

A competitive exercise with proposed sub-consultants was undertaken to ensure value was driven through the consultant supply chain led by EWBC. This then enabled cost transparency
for the client. The scheme was designed and tendered using a modified version of JCT Intermediate Form 2016 contract due to the complex commercial relationship with the LIFT Co and SPV.

Our team was led by an experienced chartered building surveyor and supported by a building surveyor. The team undertook the project management, contract administration, lead consultant, principal designer role and all stakeholder engagement for the project. The appointed design team encompassed architect, MEP and structural engineers with the project management, contract administration and principal designer roles being undertaken in house by EWBC.

The early engagement of the design team resulted in all parties understanding the developed brief, cost plan and risks associated with the project but importantly resulting in programme and cost control throughout the project.
