Antony Mulligan of Eric Wright Civil Engineering has presented a worthy donation of £200 to Father John of The Parish of St Bega, St Mungo and St Herbert, accompanied by Arthur Lester of Cumbria County Council for their generosity to our team.
EWCE have been repairing the B5292 at Braithwaite after Coledale Beck undermined the road, making it unsafe. Whilst the team have ensured that closure and disruption of the B5292 and the surrounding area was kept to a minimum a new retaining wall by the beck has been built out of local materials to support the road and make it safe once more.
The Orthodox Church, together with an Orthodox Heritage to support their mission, is housed in the Old Methodist Chapel in the village. Father John kindly offered the use of the hall attached to the Church to accommodate welfare and meetings during our works on site.
Father John described the work of EWCE as “10 out of 10”.
