FREE Groundworks Event on Thursday 29th May at the Saturn Centre, Blackburn

This is a free event run by the industry for the industry as part of the UK-wide Working Well Together (WWT) campaign.

Eric Wright Construction are pleased to be part of the campaign and would encurage our supply chain to take advantage of this free construction health and safety event.

There is a fantastic line up to help ensure the health and safety of those who work in excavations. WWT are running two parallel sessions of half a day each, one session will be “avoiding underground services, utility surveying” and the other will be “the safe management of excavations”. Both sessions involve both theoretical and practical elements, that should keep the delegates engaged through these very important aspects of construction safety.

MGF (ground support systems supplier) will be providing delegates with a process for managing excavation safety including temporary works management and completing a design brief. Delegates will be given a demonstration of how to safely and efficiently install trench support in 3m deep trench.

In the avoiding underground services, utility surveying delegates will be shown how to carry out a utility survey and will have plenty of hands on time using some traditional CAT & Genny equipment and some state of the art equipment. Delegates will be shown the value of using the signal generator and the associated plug in adapters that significantly increase the chances of detecting buried services.
