Each year, the Eric Wright Group organise a weekend for staff and their families to visit the Water Park Lakeland Adventure Centre and enjoy some of the fantastic activities on offer.
The Eric Wright Charitable Trust purchased the Water Park Estate on Coniston Water in March 1998 and converted the former house into a residential outdoor adventure centre. The stunning lakeside venue at Water Park Lakeland Adventure Centre offers bespoke outdoor experiences designed to increase teamwork skills, life skills and resilience for schools and a small number of corporate groups.
After a brilliant day canoeing, kayaking, sailing, ghyll scrambling and climbing high ropes, the team enjoyed a BBQ in the beautiful estate grounds.
By offering this residential to staff, it gives us the opportunity to show just what their work enables the Eric Wright Charitable Trust to do.
Following the weekend, we received such positive feedback from our staff and their families too.
‘What a great day my wife, son and I had at the Waterpark. They both thoroughly enjoyed it and I was proud to show off the company I’m part of. I was the first to fall in off the kayaks and got soaked to the delight of my wife. I can’t reiterate how much fun we had albeit my wife’s lips were blue and eventually thawed out on Sunday.’

‘We took our youngest son, he is a natural at all activities. It was fantastic to see him smile and laugh (we usually get grunts and nods!). It was also lovely to meet people from other areas of the business too.

It was fantastic to have such a fun family day and have the opportunity to share experiences that we would not usually have the chance to take part in.
