Eric Wright FM wins the IWFM ‘Impact’ Award in recognition of society and social value initiatives at the 2019 IWFM Awards

Eric Wright FM is proud to announce its success at the 2019 IWFM Awards, having won the ‘Impact Award’ for its society and social value initiatives.  From a shortlist including rival service providers VINCI Facilities, Sodexo and ABM UK, Eric Wright FM was named the winner because of its unique attitude and summed up in its ‘Creating Profit for a Purpose’ submission.

The IWFM awards, now in its 19th year (formerly BIFM), was held on Monday 14th October at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London and recognised FM excellence across three categories encompassing People, Innovation and Impact.

Organisations serving the public sector are obliged to commit to social value; few FM providers focussing on the private sector make the same pledge.  Eric Wright FM stands out because its whole ethos is focussed on delivering value for society.  The business strives to create economic prosperity within the places it operates though social value such as the provision of local work opportunities, local supply chain development, funding of personal and professional development and supporting employees with charitable events and activities.

Along with other companies within the Eric Wright Group, Eric Wright FM makes significant donations each year to support the Eric Wright Charitable Trust.  In 2019, the Group as a whole has made donations in excess of £2.3 million to the Trust, which supports charitable causes within the local community.  These are handpicked by the Trust and fall under the six key areas which it believes to be vital to social wellbeing: young persons’ development; elderly care; health and wellbeing; carers’ support; education and training; and community and voluntary service organisations.

George Lilley, managing director for Eric Wright FM, said: “This is a real testament not just to the company philosophy, but also to the work that all of our people do to provide sustainable FM services to our clients whilst supporting and developing our local communities and the residents who reside within. What we do is rooted in FM, but it is more than that.  It goes beyond corporate social responsibility, linking corporate strategy with social progress in order to help build resilient and sustainable communities.  It ensures that any profit is created for a purpose. It’s also fantastic recognition for the Eric Wright Charitable Trust and the Eric Wright Group, of which the whole team are incredibly proud.”
