Eric Wright Group has secured a place on Cumbria County Council’s £185million Extra Care Housing and Supported Living Accommodation Development Framework to develop, facilitate, design and construct extra care housing and supported living schemes across the county.
The framework appointment builds on the Eric Wright Group’s long standing commitment to the Cumbria region, which includes the design and build of the Council’s new £10.4million HQ in Carlisle. Also, due to start on site shortly are two extra care projects in Carlisle and Copeland again being delivered for Cumbria County Council. Eric Wright Construction and Eric Wright Civil Engineering were also appointed in January 2016 to Cumbria County Council’s four year Capital Schemes Framework through which Eric Wright Civil Engineering are currently delivering a number of bridge and infrastructure projects.
John Wilson, managing director of Eric Wright Construction, said: “We’ve a strong history of delivering purpose-built accommodation for people with health and social care needs that enable residents to have the care and support they need right where they live.
“Local authorities are seeking new and innovative ways to meet the rapidly increasing needs of an ageing population. Extra care schemes deliver better outcomes and more cost-effective care solutions and we’re looking forward to working alongside Cumbria County Council to transform current assets and develop fit-for-purpose housing that provides for older people.”
