North West Fire & Rescue Service (NWFRS)
Overview
EWFM has been appointed as the FM subcontractor for 16 fire stations across the North West of England. The fire stations are located across Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria; all of which have been designed, built, financed and operated by Balfour Beatty Investments.
The fire stations range in size from a single appliance fire station to multi-appliance stations with additional garaging for special equipment. Some of the sites also include training facilities, ambulance facilities and office space.

Achievements within the First Six Months
Transfer of staff: The EWFM team has transferred (under TUPE regulations) seven team members which included a technical services supervisor, three engineers and three caretakers; as well as 18 staff to the cleaning subcontractor Future Cleaning Services.
Successful mobilisation: The mobilisation period was led by a specialist mobilisation manager. The process was seamless and finished exactly to schedule
Self-delivery team: We have in-house expertise consisting of joiners and plumbers and are always working to upskill members of staff, to provide continuous career development.
Performance monitoring: With regular communication with the client and site personnel, EWFM was able to identify historic issues. With a responsive service, EWFM has been able to provide efficient solutions to improve service delivery.
Effective supply chain management: Working closely with our supply chain, we have implemented new process to ensure seamless delivery of specialist services which minimise disruption to building users.
