Lancashire Business Park, Preston
Overview
This project comprised the construction of two industrial units at a combined 60,000 sq ft split into 8 units. This was a negotiated scheme with Lancashire County Council completed on time and achieved an overall project return of over 10%.
The Client (LCC) were extremely complementary about the project and EWC’s team. This has strengthened foundations for future work with Lancashire County Council.
Key Challenges
On the scheme, Eric Wright Construction utilised a mixture of lime stabilisation to create suitable ground conditions that allowed traditional pad foundations and vibro-stone columns to slab areas, which were co-ordinated to suit existing statutory drainage services, whilst ensuring the design considered the possibility of differential settlement.
Added Value

The scheme employed an apprentice and received a ‘beyond compliance’ for the Considerate Constructors award.
This scheme also achieved a BREEAM Very Good rating.
EWC employed 1 apprentice and 1 work experience person throughout the scheme. The team achieved a 99.5% waste recycling rate.
