Colne Health Centre
Overview
The local landscape is softened by the mansion of trees, greenery and shrubs. The new health centre offers a range of health services including GP Practices and community services including podiatry, sexual health, treatment rooms, and speech and language therapies.
Improvements include DDA compliant facility, modern space standards and sustainable technology.
The project has achieved a rating of ‘Excellent’ in the BREEAM assessment model.
Colne Health Centre, was one of three projects delivered for East Lancashire PCT where we were able to reduce cost for the PCT through standard detailing and supply chain efficiencies.
Key Challenges
This project is situated in the centre of Colne, on an island site surrounded by busy roads and therefore careful planning and site logistics were of the upmost importance.
Added Value
During the project we employed local labour and apprentices and donated pallets to a local museum.
