Bury College Phase 9, Enterprise Centre Extension
Overview
This phase of the development for the college brings a new four storey extension to the existing Enterprise Centre in Market Street.
The state-of-the-art facility creates a number of purpose-built classrooms, seminar, and meetings rooms, along with conference and lecture facilities. The scheme included refurbishment and alteration to parts of the existing building, together with external services and landscaping works.
The design aims to improve legibility of the site and to simplify detailing and massing of the existing building.
A high level of active frontage to primary elevations to the west and north are visible from the town centre approach and increase the prominence of the college site.
The Enterprise Centre delivers a range of courses to enable people to gain skills required by businesses. The extension enables the college to provide education for students on university, adult and business courses; this includes undergraduates and advanced level apprentices.
