Birkenhead office complex Tower Wharf has won the commercial property accolade at this year’s RICS North West Awards.
The project team behind the 48,000 sq ft development, which includes Longmeadow Estates Ltd, Eric Wright Construction and Falcolner Chester Hall, was recognised for its role in kick-starting the Wirral Waters regeneration initiative.
Tower Wharf was one of four Merseyside properties honoured at the 2016 RICS North West Awards, where Alder Hey’s new Children’s Hospital in Liverpool claimed the overall Project of the Year title.
Manchester was also well represented at the event, with the redevelopment of Victoria Station earning recognition in the Infrastructure category, the DIY SOS Veterans Village picking up the Regeneration gong, a Building Conservation award going to the Whitworth, and HOME bagging the Tourism & Leisure accolade.
Chair of the judging panel for the RICS North West Awards, Will Rees says: “We were impressed with the remarkable calibre of entries this year. Whilst the winners and the highly commended range from unique small scale schemes, through to multi million pound developments, they are all positively contributing to our region.”
The 2016 RICS North West Awards ceremony took place at The Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on 22 April, hosted by ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ presenter Martin Roberts.
The recipients will compete against other regional winners at the national RICS Awards Grand Final on 14 October in London for the chance to be named as overall winner in their respective categories. – See more at: http://www.movecommercial.com/birkenheads-tower-wharf-handed-2016-rics-north-west-award/#sthash.hPphgchL.dpuf
