Home Bargains Joins Lettings Spate at Hattersley Retail Park

Maple Grove Developments, part of The Eric Wright Group, has announced further lettings to a string of national retailers at its £13million retail development in Hattersley, Tameside.

Home Bargains (15,000 sq ft), Greggs (1,000 sq ft), and Card Factory (1,250 sq ft), have all signed up to Hattersley Retail Park, which secured a reserved matters planning consent in July last year.  The news comes after Lidl announced it was to be the scheme’s anchor, taking a 19,310 sq ft food store along with Costa Coffee who are taking the1,800 sq ft drive-thru.

These deals mean only three units now remain available, measuring 1,720 sq ft, 3,200 sq ft and 6,900 sq ft.

Designed by Bowman Riley Architects, the scheme will deliver a new district centre comprising a foodstore, nine retail units, a drive-thru café/restaurant with associated parking and landscaping.  The existing buildings and structures on the site will be demolished to make way for the new district centre development.

Speaking about the scheme’s progress, Andrew Dewhurst, development director at Maple Grove Developments, commented: “Our ability to bring national retailers to Hattersley Retail Park underlines the scheme’s strengths. Located within an area of housing growth means the Park can serve the new and existing local residents as well as  providing crucial employment opportunities for this area of Greater Manchester.”

“We remain absolutely committed to this site and are looking to start construction in the summer with a view to stores being open for trading by Christmas 2020.”

John Brady at Brady’s, joint agents for the scheme with Reid Rose Gregory, continued: “Fronting the very busy A560 Stockport Road at the end of the M67 means that the Park benefits from a huge amount of passing trade. Tesco Extra, Premier Inn and McDonalds are already established in this locality and Hattersley Retail Park will further add to the offer here.”
