Colleagues in Step for Rosemere

Colleagues from Preston-based construction company, Eric Wright Group, got in step for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, presenting the charity with a cheque for £2,108.

A 10-strong workforce team raised the money by being sponsored to take on this year’s annual Rosemere Cancer Foundation Walk in the Dark back in April. The amount raised was then matched by the Eric Wright Charitable Trust.  The Eric Wright Group had also sponsored the 11-mile trek itself to the tune of £1,500 to cover its staging costs.

Cathy Skidmore, Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s Trust and Corporate Fundraising Manager, pictured front left with Eric Wright Group’s Marketing, PR and CSR Manager Suzanne Taylor, who completed Walk in the Dark alongside team mates Andrea Bowden and Kirsten Whittle, said: “We are very grateful to Eric Wright for again not only sponsoring Walk in the Dark as it did last year but also, for match funding the amount its team of walkers raised.”

This year’s Walk in the Dark was Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 10th.  It had a field of 450 walkers, who collectively through walk entry fees, sponsorship and donations raised £52,000 to help the charity continue its work bringing world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients from throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria by funding vital equipment, research, training and other cancer services that are beyond limited NHS resources.
