Men United Against Prostate Cancer 2017 with Team Eric Wright

On Friday 9th June Team Eric Wright Group took part once again in the 4th annual Football 2 Amsterdam, a 150 mile cycle ride over 2 days in 2 countries in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

Our team of 5 comprised some keen/experienced cyclists and some who were just keen to cycle!  They set off in high spirits from Barnsley Football Club’s Oakwell Stadium on Friday 9th June and arrived in Hull to catch the overnight ferry to Rotterdam – which I am told proved to be quite an experience in itself!!  The next day they disembarked, donned their ‘Men United Against Prostate Cancer’ shirts and cycled to Amsterdam in 30 degree heat – quite a task for British guys – where they arrived tanned, tired but triumphant!

This is the second year that we have taken part in this gruelling event and are hoping to increase the £15,183 we raised last year.  If you’d like to do your bit to help there’s still time to sponsor us, using the link below to our Just Giving page:

We understand that this year’s Football 2 Amsterdam Event is on course to raise a grand total of over £500,000 for Prostate Cancer UK, an amazing amount.   Statistics show that 1 in 8 men (1 in 4 in men of colour) will get Prostate Cancer in their lifetime, so it is very likely that we all know somebody who has been affected by it.  Prostate Cancer UK invest in research to find a cure and also in supporting those affected by Prostate Cancer.  Every penny counts in this fight and the Eric Wright Group are justifiably proud of their efforts to raise both awareness and money.

Well done Team Eric Wright and thanks to all of our sponsors who have supported us over the last 2 years – super guys, super achievement!
