Safety Groups UK Excellence Awards 2019

James Riddick, in his role as Treasurer for South Cumbria Occupational Health & Safety Group (SCOHSG), he has been invited to attend the Safety Groups UK Annual Awards at Gladstone Library, Royal Horseguards Hotel in London.  He will be awarded the Gold Excellence Award for South Cumbria Occupational Health & Safety Group for its work in local schools and colleges in raising awareness of risk in the workplace and for helping SME’s improve their understanding of health & safety.  South Cumbria Occupational Health & Safety Group has also been shortlisted for the overall winner.

The Excellence Award judging panel have concluded their judging and it is my pleasure to inform you that South Cumbria Occupational Health and Safety Group has been awarded the highest achievement of a SGUK Excellence Gold Award.

The judges were very impressed with the calibre of entries and your submission stood out as one of the very best. The work that your Safety Group is doing is excellent and we are delighted to be able to have the opportunity to recognise your achievement.  I would like to pass on my congratulations to you and your colleagues, this is an outstanding achievement of which you should be very proud.

Your group is also being considered for the overall winner of the SGUK Excellence Awards and the prize of the Alan Butler Award 2019, which will be announced on the day of the SGUK Awards Ceremony.  The winner of the Alan Butler Award will be given an opportunity to make a short ‘thank you’ speech during the ceremony and will be invited back to next year’s award ceremony to make a presentation on their winning entry.”
