Rosemere Runs with Santa

Each year, Rosemere Cancer Foundation organises a number of Santa Dashes across Lancashire and South Cumbria to raise funds for the charity, and this year is no different.  The races will take place in four fantastic locations and will be sponsored by the Eric Wright Group.

This year, dashes will take place in Clitheroe, Preston, Burnley and Kendal and will offer a festive day out for all the family whilst raising funds for a well deserving charity.  Monies raised will help Rosemere Cancer Foundation provide cutting edge equipment, research, training and other cancer services and therapies that the NHS is unable to afford.

The runs cater to all abilities and range in distance from 1 mile to 5k and will all take place on the 7th December, other than Clitheroe which is being held on the 24th November 2019.

Commenting on the event, Jeremy Hartley, managing director of Eric Wright Group, said: “We first began supporting Rosemere Cancer Foundation seven years ago sponsoring the Blackburn Cathedral Valentine’s concert and are delighted to support the four Santa Dashes following on from our support of Walk in the Dark earlier this year.  As a local company, we are well aware of Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s work to support those in treatment at Rosemere Cancer Centre and all of our region’s hospital cancer units and in recognition of this they were also nominated as one of our Charities of the Year in 2018 with a substantial donation.”

Entry to the dash is open to anyone over the age of 11 years and costs £10 (£8 for those affiliated to an athletics club).  Every adult entry (i.e. over 18 years) will receive an email entitling them to a free under-11 child place.  Entries will be accepted on the day if possible but as the field will be limited to 200 runners only, advance entry via Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s website at: www.rosemere.org.uk is recommended.
