Work Starts on Luxury Housing Scheme in Forton

A project to build 27 new homes in Forton, near Garstang, is now underway.

The three-acre ‘Bowland Gardens’ development is situated on the site of a former nursery just off the A6 and will comprise 22 detached family homes, two bungalows and three affordable housing properties.

Ten different house types ranging from 900 sq ft to 1,565 sq ft will be constructed by Eric Wright Special Projects and the show home is expected to be open by early September.

Bowland Gardens is one of six Applethwaite developments across Cumbria and Lancashire. Known widely in the Lake District for creating luxury homes the company, which is part of the Eric Wright Group, has broadened its range of housing, with an emphasis on new-build family homes in small developments.

Mike Henry, director of Applethwaite Ltd, said: “We’re delighted to have started work on this development which will provide new-build accommodation in an attractive village.

“We pride ourselves in delivering homes built to high standards with quality fixtures and fittings, generous gardens and living areas and look forward to welcoming house buyers to the development once the show home is ready.”
