Eric Wright Supports Symphony at the Tower

The Eric Wright Group has pledged its support for the Symphony at the Tower weekend, making it the eighth year the company has supported the key fund-raising event for St Catherine’s Hospice.

Following on from last year’s success, the event at Hoghton Tower will be held over two nights, beginning on Friday July 4 2014 and starring James Blunt in a concert-style evening of entertainment. Multi-award-winning Blunt will perform tracks from across his career, including his latest album Moon Landing which features recent number two hit Bonfire Heart.

This will be followed by popular classical crossover artist Katherine Jenkins OBE, performing across a spectrum of operatic arias, popular songs, musical theatre and hymns on Saturday July 5 2014. Multi-platinum selling mezzo-soprano Katherine is one of the world’s most successful classical artists, responsible for making the genre more accessible around the globe.

The two-night event will close with a spectacular firework finale.

Lorraine Charlesworth, director of income generation at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “We are enormously grateful to Eric Wright for their sponsorship of the Symphony event – which returns again in 2014 for its 19th year.

“The first two-night event with The Human League and Aled Jones was fantastic fun last year, and we’re sure James Blunt and Katherine Jenkins will pull out all the stops to ensure another brilliant weekend of music in a fabulous spot.

“We would like to say a big thank you to Eric Wright for their support, and we look forward to welcoming many members of staff from the firm to the Symphony over what promises to be two great nights, raising vital funds to support the specialised care of the hospice.”

Jim Carter, deputy chairman of the Eric Wright Group, said: “The Eric Wright Group is delighted to continue its support for St Catherine’s Hospice with its sponsorship of this important cultural event for south Lancashire.

“As a direct provider of support for disadvantaged groups through its Coniston based activity centre, Water Park, the company is acutely aware of the need for business to be involved in charitable work.”

Tickets – including VIP packages featuring drinks reception, meal and exclusive viewing area – are available for one or both nights and can be obtained from www.stcatherines.co.uk or from the hospice in Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall, Preston, PR5 5XU / 01772 629171.
