Cotwold Outdoors officially opens at Albion Place, Skipton

Queues of customers eagerly awaited the official opening of the multi-award winning outdoor clothing and equipment retailer, Cotswold Outdoor, in Skipton last Thursday.

Councillor Chris Harbron joined CEO of Cotswold Outdoor, Hans Falkenburg, to officially open the store with a cutting of the climbing rope. Following the official opening, the first 100 customers who spent £50 or more in store were rewarded with a goody bag filled with treats worth more than £100 RRP.

“It was great to welcome so many customers to our new store, the atmosphere was electric from the moment we opened the doors,” said store manager, Dean Smith. “It’s a fantastic location in a great town with a wealth of outdoor groups, centres and activities on our doorstep. We’ve already begun to build links with various local clubs and businesses and aim to build on this to provide a resource point for the outdoor community in the local area, sharing our team’s knowledge and experience alongside our large product range and unique services.”

The new store showcases Cotswold Outdoor’s fantastic range of outdoor kit from top quality brands. Customers will also benefit from a number of specialist services, including free boot and rucksack fitting, which will be carried out by the team of ten specially trained staff.

“We are very proud to have opened our 70th store in Skipton as a fantastic new addition to our portfolio” said Hans Falkenburg, CEO of Cotswold Outdoor.

“We have been looking to open a store in Skipton for a while and I am very pleased that we now have a good size store in the new Albion Place Development. We are able to display a very exciting range of some 10,000 products and 200 brands and believe we offer a very wide choice for our customers and we hope that it appeals to them”.

“I am pleased that in this difficult financial climate we are able to continue to open new stores. In Skipton we made a serious investment in what I hope is the most exciting outdoor store. We have created 10 new jobs and I look forward to seeing this store grow as part of the local outdoor community and hope that the people of Skipton will benefit from all that Cotswold Outdoor has to offer”.
