Blackburn Health Centre Reaches Practical Completion
On Monday 19th September the Eric Wright Construction site team who have been working on the Blackburn site for just over two years were delighted to handover the Barbara Castle Way Health Centre to the East Lancashire Building Partnership.
NHS Blackburn with Darwen will now commission the centre so that it can be opened to the public in November 2011.
The £21m health centre, completed on programme, will include four GP practices, a treatment room, podiatry, retinal screening, diabetes, speech and language therapy, orthoptics, dental and audiology. There is also a dedicated Young Person's Resource centre, which will provide a range of services through organisations including Brook, Connexions, LifeLine and Job Centre Plus.
