Eric Wright Civil Engineering was launched in 1991 and are a leading force in the civil engineering industry in Northern England. With a annual turnover of around £26 million, we pride ourselves in the delivery of both minor and major projects on time and within budget.
We undertake a comprehensive range of civil engineering projects for a large and diverse range of clients. These include national bodies, regional clients from both the public and private sector, through to a number of local businesses. Our success can be attributed to our philosophy of continuous improvement and our organisational culture of developing strong links with our clients and supply chain partners.
To support our membership of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) we are also an approved Constructionline contractor and accredited to Achilles Utility Vendor Database (UVDB) and Link-up, together with the Contractors Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS). Water
Eric Wright Civil Engineering have been appointed to the United Utilities Minor Works Capital Maintenance Framework and in that period we have successfully completed over 250 projects ranging from pumping station refurbishment to the complete overhaul of existing waste water treatment plants. Over the framework period, United Utilities have spent in the region of £30m and have renewed our contract a total of 5 times, demonstrating our vital role as a key supplier to our client.
Our dedicated team has expertise in the mechanical and electrical field which supports our core civil engineering business.
We have tailored our business to be aligned to the needs of our client, reacting quickly, efficiently and appropriately to the size of project required. Projects under the framework range in value from £1k to £1m.
In addition we are supported by our trusted supply chain of subcontractors. These companies supplement our skills and expertise and we have informal partnerships in place with those companies that have proven ability to consistently deliver the high standards demanded of them.
We pride ourselves on a professional and quality delivery from design stage, through an excellent installation to speedy handover on completion.

Infrastructure
We carry out a variety of development projects for commercial, residential and local authority clients, including associated adoptable highway and drainage works and services installations. Other works include: ground remediation, estate roads, bridge works, car parks, park and ride schemes, hardstandings, lighting, drainage and landscaping. Much of our work is gained through repeat business from local authorities, blue chip companies and residential developers.

Highways
We have over 25 years experience in infrastructure projects ranging from small footway improvements through to major motorway projects and large, complex bridge and highway construction. The experience and knowledge that our staff have accrued from these projects is fairly unique, and puts us at the forefront of medium sized civil engineering contractors in the UK.
We have earned an enviable reputation as a quality provider of highway projects in Northern England, all of which are completed safely and to our clients satisfaction. This reputation has led to a number of major clients joining us in partnering arrangements to carry out ongoing long term projects.
In addition to our construction experience, we provide innovative bridge repair and maintenance solutions with our in house team of professionals ensuring successful, on-time, cost effective completion on all projects. Our technical expertise covers concrete repairs, structural strengthening, deck replacements, structural steelwork repairs, waterproofing, cathodic protection, masonry works, bearing replacements and many more complex specialist works.

Dams and Reservoirs
Our track record includes works to embankments, spillways, weirs and other major structures, many which have been carried out in environmentally sensitive areas.
In discussion with our clients, a number of projects have been carried out following early contractor involvement. This has resulted in innovative solutions being found to the particular and unique problems associated with projects of this nature.

Rail
We are Achilles Link-Up accredited for a wide range of civil engineering works and by February 2011 expect to gain our Network Rail Principal Contractor's Licence. We have core safety trained infrastructure of staff and have completed a number of rail related contracts for local authorities and The Highways Agency.
We are committed to expanding our knowledge and expertise in this area.
