Kendal town centre redevelopment
Kendal town centre redevelopment

This is a major development in the centre of Kendal and requires considerable multi layered skills to meet the high standards and exacting programme commitments in this sensitive area.

The works comprises the construction of new offices for the Westmorland Gazette and a new Booths Supermarket. In addition the development includes new multi-deck car park, 10 shop units, a range of apartments and the refurbishment of the existing Lakeland shop.

External works require site demolition, treatment of contaminated ground, formation of entrance ramps, retaining walls, public square, car parking and landscaping.

The design whilst modern in function utilises traditional materials to this region such as original limestone walling, masonry work, slate roofing and rendered elevations which is in keeping with the Lakeland vicinity.
