Seathwaite Tarn Dam Remedials

The works included:

  • Extending wave wall into the high ground at the left hand end of the dam
  • Repairs to teh downstream face of the concrete dams
  • Installation of a PVC geocomposite membrane and a geonet drainage layer included associated fixtures and fittings to the upstream face of the auxiliaru overflow
  • Rock erosion protection measures to be installed at the left hand end of the dam to arrest erosion of the embankment
  • The area eitehr side of the main spillway was raised by construction of reinforced concrete ground beams to prevent water passing over teh rock knoll area.
